Lite-On Technology Corp. (TW 2301) is pleased to announce that it has been continuously selected as a leading member of the 2014 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for four consecutive years. Lite-On has been ranked first, the Industry Leader of Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics (i.e. Computer Hardware), demonstrating its success in achieving the international standards of sustainability practices.
     This year, DJSI invited 3,395 leading companies worldwide to participate in the evalsuation. Of those 3,395 candidates, just 319 companies were selected as DJSI-world members in 59 industries, with just one company named as the “Industry Leader” in each one. Lite-On participated in the Computers & Peripherals and Office Electronics (Computer Hardware) industry evalsuation and has been selected as a member in both DJSI-World and DJSI-Emerging Markets, as well as being named “Industry Leader”, ahead of leading-edge companies from the United States and Japan. Lite-On impressively achieved the highest scores in 8 out of 23 aspects including Antitrust Policy, Customer Relationship Management, Climate Strategy, Environmental/Management System, Environmental Reporting, Hazardous Substances, Human Capital Development, and Stakeholder Engagement in the Computer Hardware industry. Lite-On’s outstanding performance in all of these aspects reaffirmed Lite-On’s strong long-term commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) development. Lite-On will continue to make steady efforts regarding all dimensions of sustainability performance, working closely with players throughout the entire supply chain, to the clear benefit of its stakeholders as well as local and global communities.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices were launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmarks. The indices are offered as part of a cooperative effort by Dow Jones Indexes and the SAM (Sustainable Asset Management). DJSI invites the worldwide top 3,300 companies of 59 sectors for the evalsuation, tracking their performances in terms of economic, environmental and social dimensions and selects the top 10% of each sector to be listed as its members.
