Under the theme of “intelligent energy saving ” Lite-On presents advanced products and solutions for Automotive and IoT applications, such as Smart Manufacturing, Wearables, Smart Home, and Smart Medical at 2016 LED Expo Taiwan.
At the show, Lite-On showcases its whole series of LEDs and sensor solutions for Automotive. All Automotive products are qualified to the automotive AEC Q101 standard, a reliability test qualification procedure for discrete semiconductors published by the Automotive Electronics Council. As the rising awareness towards the safety is the key driver for the growth of Adaptive lighting systems. LEDs will be increasingly adopted in Adapting Front-lighting Systems, as they can be controlled electronically and independently of each other to adjust the light based on the situation and surroundings, Lite-On’s headlight LEDs have achieved 1800lm @ 1A and are with junction temperature of up to 150⁰C (Tj150⁰C). Its Multichip platform with high efficiency, high color uniformity and low thermal resistance is even more perfectly suited for Adapting Lighting Systems. With a Moisture Sensitivity Level rating of 1 (MSL1), Lite-On‘s headlight package has an unlimited storage period until mounting. Meanwhile, Lite-On also exhibits its Ambient Light Sensor, LTRA-300ALS, which is an automotive qualified to the AEC-Q100 standard that can be used to adjust LCD screen brightness levels for Automotive.
Lite-On also presents its sensor products and solutions for Smart Home and Smart Medical. Supporting sensor-based controls Home Automation applications, such as home lighting with automated adjustment function based on occupancy or daylight intensity. Lite-On also showcases its Health sensor platform including photoplethymography (PPG) sensors for wearables and portable devices. PPG applies optical sensor technology using LED light sources and it is less susceptible to power supply noise and electromagnetic interference. Comparing with other sensor technologies, PPG can take measurements on different body parts of a person and can be placed in various positions. PPG sensors can trace pulse rate and other health-related data and therefore have huge business potentials in the home healthcare market.
Mr. Warren Chen, Group CEO of Lite-On Group, stated that Lite-On Group has been integrating internal resources to continuously explore new opportunities in the areas of cloud computing, LED Lighting, Automotive Electronics, Biomedical and Industrial Automation, which are the five major IoT applications. This has led to sound achievements in the recent years especially in the LED and Lighting related applications and brought fresh growth momentum for the Group.
At 2016 LED Expo Taiwan, Lite-On showcases its latest products and solutions in IoT applications that fully demonstrate Lite-On’s excellent R&D and innovation capabilities. This comprehensive array of products continue to prove Lite-ON’s efforts and achievements on expanding from the ICT industry into the Automotive lighting , Wearables and IoT applications.
